Customer Review: OK so far but not good for small ears
I have had this only for a short time. I plan to add more info as I gain more experience with it, but there's one thing you should know right away. The earbud portion is the kind with a soft rubber gasket around it, such that it should plug into your ear canal, sealing it off, like some earbud headphones. Most of those headphones have a small rigid portion with several sizes of interchangeable rubber buds that fit on it to mate with the ear canal. Unfortunately this LG headset has a large rigid portion and only one size of rubber bud which is only slightly larger than the rigid endoskeleton. As such, it is not very comfortable and does not fit into my ear. I have to make do with it just pressing against my ear canal opening, rather than sealing inside it. I typically use the small size buds with headphones, so I suspect my ears are smaller than average. I think this LG headset is more suited to medium or more likely large size ears. It still works ok if it doesn't fit all the way in, it just doesn't get as loud or seal out ambient noise as well as it would if it were sealed. So, this will work for all ear sizes in quiet locations, but poorly for small ears in any other situation. Another difficulty I have encountered already is that it gives you no indication of whether it is on or off, unless you happen to hear it's power-down tones. Otherwise there's no way to tell other than to turn it on/off with it in your ear, or by placing a call to see if it connects. There is an LED on it which lights up for certain activities, but in standby mode it looks no different than it does when it's turned off. I also find it pretty easy to accidentally press the call button while trying to reposition it or adjust the volume, which inadvertently hangs up on the call.
